Well this a first for me,on the way home to day two bars left on the fuel gauge and going round a bend the fuel light comes on,no suprises there, then the fuel bars start to go up! 3,4,5,6,7 god!, i thought is feckin brilliant it refilling its self got home turned it off and then back on and slowerly the bar start to go down 7,6,5,4,3,2 and finally 1 well can any body explain that????

O' by the way i have a message for the two police officers in the unmarked car that was in front of me on the A44 wishingI would belt passed ...........sorry lads i spotted you first :dabone

Mine doesn't do quite the same but when it's hot it will not register full. Usually two or three bars down from full despite trickling in the last few litres to the absolute brim (once managed to get 29.6 litres in).

If I stop within a short time and switch off sometimes it will register full on start up sometimes it stays the same!

I always reset the trip so it isn't an issue but I've always wondered why it does this sometimes!

I had the same problem a while back and found the solution on this thread. It was the suggestion by Mike O (second post on the thread and picture further down) that cured it for me. Cleaned the connector and problem resolved.
Hope it works for you...
Derek

Mines been misbehaving since I replaced the fuel filter a month ago..... didnt really take much notice of it in the past, but now it only starts to drop from the full mark after about 75 miles, jumps back to full for a while and then starts to decrease.
I thought it odd that with half a tank left ... (to the reserve light) I still had nearly a full gauge showing....
Ummmm maybe this is ok.. but just looking at the other thread I will check and clean the plug connection if my last effort of tank off and checking yesterday hasnt helped... fingers crossed:)
