I'm hoping someone can help with this. The other half's CRF has a drowning a month ago, we got it going and all was fine, but when we took it out on the weekend there was no rev counter/speed/fuel display, also when the indicators flash the arrows are lighting up.

I removed it to find water inside. I left it to dry out for 24hrs, there is no sign of corrosion on the board but it still won't work, the LCD lights up, the neutral light, main beam light and engine management light come on but not the indicators, the ABS light is also continually flashing.

Any thoughts on where else I can look? The fuse is good (tail light is on the same fuse and is on), a used replacement cluster is £190, I'd like to be 100% sure its knackered before changing it.

Heres the wiring diagram

But the fact the display is blank but still have power etc tells me your board (well something on it) is probably fried...

Thanks for that, it's what I was expecting but hoping not the case. I'd have expected to spell a burn or see some damage but the LCD is attached by dozens of soldered posts so it could well be damaged behind there.

Is there any ribbon connectors?? AS i would expect them to be the weakest

You could probably just use a multimeter across all the capacitors etc to check which one/ones may have fried

If yo have access to the board, I would get some contact cleaner and a tooth brush on the board, give it a gentle clean, and then let it dry out. nice cheep way of trying to fix it before replacing it !

You can't see much of the component side of the board but something is looking a bit corroded under there, I've given it a good spray with contact cleaner and rubbed it with a cotton bud but no joy.20241230_194936.jpg

did you get the pcb out from the casing to give it a comprehensive clean ?
