I’ve booked a few days at the Crieff Hydro next Spring & plan to follow the Cloverleaf routes. I’ve ridden some of them in years gone by particularly those around the Cairngorms & in the west around Glencoe Fort William & the route now known as the NC500. Can anyone recommend any favourite coffee/lunch stops and any other points of interest I should seek out?
Ta muchly,
Phill

So many options! great places to ride and visit.
This is my current favourite - fab cafe: https://www.cultybraggancamp.uk/
Cafe is https://www.facebook.com/p/Camp-21-Cafe-61575688263676/

The Watermill Cafe is good too: https://www.blairathollwatermill.co.uk/

If you like Steak Pie, the House of Bruar restaurant is excellent if a tad pricey. They have a Fish & Chip cafe outdoors which is excellent. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2828753807250061&id=246483185477149&set=a.249088651883269

Missenden Flyer on YouTube has 3 recent episodes out on the Crieff Cloverleaf

Thanks for your replies. I’ll try some of the eateries & check out YouTube

The Steading (next to the Aldi) in Crieff is a popular stop off for bikers. Further afield, there's the Dewar's distillery at Aberfeldy which does decent snacks, sarnies etc. The tour is pretty good.

While you're there, visit the kirkyard in Fortingall, bithplace of Pontius Pilate (so they say). More importantly, the yew tree there is reputed to be the oldest in Europe. (But it's hard to tell as yews "re-generate".) From there, be sure to go up Glen Lyon and over Ben Lawers.

In Killin, there's the Falls of Dochart Inn and other eateries. Behind the inn is a seafood shack. Watch out for the camera in the car park. You have to register your vehicle at the bar of the Inn.

A stop off at Finlanrig Castle is interesting. Have some cash to put in the honesty box for visitors. If you're lucky, the landowner will be around to check you out! He walks his Lab around there. Once he's sure you're cosher and interested, expect a personal guided tour around the ruin. He's an interesting character! (y)

Thanks for that Pete, I’m looking forward to planning this trip more & more now…

When are you planning on going ? I'd like to try and do it spring time also but not sure when would be a good time to go ? I was thinking mid-May but I'm not sure if that's a good idea weather-wise ?

The Glen Lyon tea rooms are worth a visit.
Are they still open ?

Brilliant Scones - or used to be

Anyway back on track

The Moulin is very good on the way out of Pitlochry and on the road to Edradour distillery which is also a very interesting place as it is the smallest commercial distillery in the world I think

Thanks for all your replies. Plenty of places to plan the rides around. We’re going in early May. Over the years we’ve been lucky with our spring visits to Scotland & particularly the highlands. The weather has always been kind although weather generally recently has been a lot less predictable.
Cheers Phil

When leaving Crieff make sure you head up the Sma Glen then turn left onto the Aberfeldy road pst the Grifin wind farm, this will bring you in the backroad of Aberfeldy. Plenty pubs and cafe’s and the petrol station!

I’m up at Killin a lot cause mate there. Roads are all great, but starter for 10 would be A822 from Gilmerton to Aberfeldy.
Back road up to Tummel Bridge and Loch Tummel and Rannoch. Tbh, you can’t go wrong as long as you avoid A9.
This was up at Loch Rannoch recently.
