Hey, another newbie here... As always, lapping up the info posted: still amazed at the quantity of good stuff.
I'm concerned about my 1200 getting shunted over sideways by the white van men / SUVs that line both sides of my street. My last bike got upended 3 or 4 times last year, even when parking parallel to the curb. I'm hoping the gs will be big enough to look 'em in the eye.
I was wondering whether the cross-bar would actually brace the handlebars if the bike falls sideways? Surely, it's not just for fixing gadgets to (nice though that'd be)... My query is whether the clever people from BMW have designed the bars to flex and that bracing them artificially could do more harm than good?
Any thoughts guys, before I go ordering the boxer ones...?
