I wish I'd fitted one to my 2004 GS when I bought it new. It would have saved two replacement front covers (both under warranty). It was one of the first items I fitted to my 2010 GS and, so far, my front cover still looks like new. As already stated, you can here the stones/gravel hitting it and each time I hear it I think of the damage that has been prevented. BMW should bulk order from Mark and fit these things as standard.
Highly recommended 40 odd quids worth.

Despite the start of this thread you'll not hear any complaints from any genuine customers about Marks products.

Don't look for an alternative, just fit the best one.

Three years on and the front alternator cover on my 1200GSA is as good as new - I put it down to ACF50, extended front fender and a Mark Hooton Crud Catcher.

All I need to do now is sort out the cross pipe on the centre stand which has taken a beating from the same crap off the roads.

Fitted from new on my 2010. Everything still like new.

£40 for a great piece of kit that does the job superbly and looks like a factory fit.

Well worth it in my opinion

Forgot to mention, also have fender extender. My centre stand is also looking very rusty/chipped. Powder coating may be the answer or perhaps Mark could make a fortune outta selling a stainless steel centre stand?
