It’s done I have finally secured myself one of those lovely 1150 GS bikes. I originally had a F650 for a year and was very happy with the old girl. But since the ride home on the 1150, I can assure people that the smile on my mug was long and wide, I thinks the joker would have had decent competition that day.

I can not believe how good it handles, and it has a real feeling of confidence on the road, and it’s very comfortable in the saddle, I rode 200 miles before I hoped off, and even then only for motion lotion.

I’m glad I found this club a year ago, as I now have a bike which is my up and coming summer freedom machine; as Europe here we come.

And to think I was going to get a Honda Translap, struth, I was lucky.

Skip, Welcome to 'da klub.....
I had a multitide of bikes over 26 yrs, and always seemed to think every new(2nd hand) one was better, before the GS I had an R1100R, which I crossed South Africa with a few times, put decent miles on, However, having grown up on more off road biased bikes (also have had 3 Vespas, and love them for town) the GS was always my dream, I traded the R in for a 2000 model GS, and got more for it on trade in than I had paid 2.5yr before. I brought the GS here 18mths ago, and will keep it, Am now looking patiently for the right Adventure to add to it. ENJOY THE SMILES, BELIEVE ME MINE STILL HAVE NOT STOPPED. See you at the ACE Cafe Sunday? some of us meeting at PC World Orpington at 9am.:hapybnce: :hapybnce:
