No problems with battery getting damaged?
Only reason I ask is I bought this charger for my previous bike after the battery started going flat. A few months of use and the battery was dead.
Not sure if it would be the charger that killed it or if it was just a knackered battery.
My GS battery seems fine without a charger at the moment but thought about putting it on if winter arrives.
I have a CTEK MXS10 that I use for topping up and float charging a few different sized batteries from small bike to 4x4 monster.
I've fitted CTEK's LED charge indicator leads to everything I own, they give an instant indication of the charge level of each vehicle, and I can plug the charger into whichever needs it as required.
The larger the charger, the faster it will charge your battery up.
With the CTEK's you can be sure they won't overcharge the battery providing you choose the correct mode for whatever you're connecting it to.
If you want a charger to use on a car as well as the bike, I'd suggest the MXS5.0 maybe the 7.0 or the 10 for larger diesel vehicles with big batteries.
I have only used the charger a few times this year, when I'm not using the bike for a few weeks, and I've not noticed any deterioration in the battery.
When I do give it a charge I tend to just connect it over night, I don't leave it permanently connect because it's a trip hazard.
I've used the same charger on a Ranger Rover that was permanently on charge with no adverse effects.
