Guys/Gals/Others, being the proud owner of a new 1250 I’m finding stuff out.

Like what a stumpy weak old git I’m becoming when the bike is fully loaded and I’m trying to get it vertical.

So, being as cunning as a fox (not the words the wife uses) I’ve simply put packers under the side stand foot plate :)

Nooooo, it doesn’t have to be one of my products - I guess any one will do?

Just a helpful tip brought to you by Hooton Industries Inc :)

Is that Ali? bit of salt and water in there, it will make a very nice battery :)

actualy, if you bolt a lump of Zink on your bike it should stop it rusting ;)

ACF50 normally reduces battery-like corrosion down to manageable proportions but I’m sure you already knew that fella :)

The problem is that the more vertical you make the bike by propping up the sidestand, the more likely it is to fall over on an adverse slope or with a strong gust of wind. Suggest you go to the gym instead! :)

Yeah you are very much right - I’ve gone for a happy balance between waaaaay too much over and it tipping the other way, of course. As for the gym, can’t fault you - let’s hope they can do something for old knackers who still wanna ride eh :)

I actually find it way better lower Mark, as when the wifey gets off with her short legs, I rest it on the sidestand to help me and her to get off easier.

Hi Mark

Hi Mark, do you make a side stand puck for the 800GSA ? Cheers Rich

Just remember, when riding abroad, that the side stand when down will be on the higher part of the camber. You might want to take the Puck or Mark's packers off for the trip. Just a thought.

And that’s a very good reminder! And sorry Richie no I don’t but I can ‘set to’ and see if I can come up with anything?

When on the side stand

If you turn the bars so that the RH bar is nearest the tank

You will find the bike cants just a little bit lower ;)

As they say every little helps :)

Also if RH bar is nearest the tank the bike can "roll off" the stand with a bump/nudge from the rear or a big gust of wind!

it can't do it with Left hand lock :thumb
