Cure for buffeting found - no screen change needed

I have just fitted my bagster tank cover and tank bag I bought from GSMILES. (Thanks). Before fitting anything above 70mph was a pain due to excessive buffeting.

The first time I rode it, yesterday, I couldn't work out why teh ride was much better with upto 40% less buffeting, I just put it down to the weather.

Today, 140 mile round trip cruising at 80 mph fantastic, no buffeting at all, I could have crusied at that speed all day . A little bit faster and it was still perfectly ok.

I can only assume the bag helps reduce the low pressure on the rider side of the screen and helps solve some of the problem.

The bag is staying on whether I need it or not now. Fantastic.

I have bought a GSA screen and those winglet things, not sure I need them now, I will try it when it arrives of course but quite happy as it is.

I used to dread high speed cruising, can't wait now.

Any else come across this?

hi,i have a baglux tank cover/bag and have noticed none of those benefits
the bike is great to ride but the buffeting is the only fly in the ointment

Winglets do actually work........for me anyway...Im a 6 footer. No buffeting at all.

I have a BMW tankbag which I initially used on my 2006 GS and found the same results, in fact it was that bad without the tankbag that I always rode with it on. I now have a GSA and the same tankbag which doesn't make the same difference however, the bike is fine without the tankbag but I'm not sure if the winglets or the larger screen are giving me the improvement.

How do you work out 40%,instead of say......half. Do you have a buffometer fitted and how does it work

Has anyone noticed buffeting changing with fuel level changes?? Maybe the tank bag weight changed the effect....just a thought....full tank,less wobble????

Interesting . I am leaving for Dunkirk in a while. I will let you know how I get on. Haven`t used my tankbag yet. Of course I too will be keeping down to 80mph

Same found here. It's air coming under the forks and up. Like you I noticed a big drop after fitting a tank map bag.

am back. Didnt really notice any difference. Maybe because I have a GSA and have the wind deflectors each side?
