GBC TV normally gives popular exchange rates during the ad break in the news, the diram is always at 15.50, but local exchange rates tonight now show 12.50.
Its really difficult to get dirams in Gib anyway, but I noticed that when I went to Morocco last November, I managed to change locally at a rate of14.00, (even though the TV said it was at 15.50), but my friends changed in banks in Morocco at 13.00 and in the hotels at 12. 50.
I'm just wondering if the official rate has gone down to 12.50 (due to the current weak pound), then this may have a knock on effect when changing in Morocco.

Just something to think about if your traveling in that direction in the near future.

Official rate? I don't think that there is one.

The current market rate is 1GBP = 12.33MAD

Next week it might be something altogether different.

GBC has been showing it as 15.50 for at least two years, (the time I've been actually paying attention to it!), and I was led to believe that it was a fixed currency (or something like that), and did not fluctuate with the frequency that the dollar, euro and the pound does.
