Yep! I suspect that when you were around the area it was predominantly Jewish; it is now strongly asian, mainly Bangladeshi and Pakistani. The city hasn't encroached too much yet - it's spreading in other directions with some movement into Shoreditch.
You could always come along to the next curry night

don't suppose You lot are going again next week are You? I'm down in London from thursday 2nd until sunday 5th on a course. got to do the course social do on the friday but I'm at a loose end thursday and saturday nights.
