Cutting the brake lever

Have been reading time and time again about brake lever touching the handguard and causing problems ,, anything against cutting it shorter ? then better clearance and less likely to touch anything causing from inadvertent braking to only servo braking ,,,,,.

Your thoughts on it !
 
buy a set of shorter levers off e bay then you would still retain the ball end
 
its very a problem these days dont fret you know about the potential prob so it wont happen to you will it.
 
It isn't so hard to have a look!

Just tap the guard back up/down with the palm of your hand and problem solved (If you have servo brakes it will not complete a self check on switching on the key and you will know something is wrong before you ride off

USUALLY only a problem on some 1150's and pre 2006 1200 bikes from memory though

Cutting the lever will fail the MOT. But why all the fretting its not a big deal.

But if its a genuine worry fit the taller hand guard tops and set the "frames" a little lower. Then they won't catch on the levers and you still keep the flies of your gloves.
