Hi All

I DROPPED IT getting out the garage :(

Engine bars took to very minor scratches but there is a scuff to the right hand guard and a small scratch on the cylinder head

So...what to use to get the scratch out the hand guard (back to black?) and where do I buy touch up paint that will match the paint colour on the cylinder head ....

Thanks for you help.....

I know how you feel I dropped mine off road in the Alps, I need to touch up the cylinder cover however the dealer told me BMW don't do touch up paint for this so I would be interested in sourcing too.

Out of interest, which engine bars do you have fitted and was there a good reason they didn't protect the cylinder head fully? Just so we know :D

I had some paint mixed a couple of years ago for my R80 gs by a company in Liverpool rd ,Stoke
so not far from you, he came out to the bike did a couple of trials and when he was happy with the match, did me a couple of spray cans,

Brilliant result, i'll see if i can find a name and number for you,

Just realised I still have the paint can on the shelf :blast

Aeromatik aerosols ltd ST4 1AT ,01782 417323

There's another number on the can 01782746947

worth a try, good luck

Phew! That's a relief. I feel a parking drop coming! Hope I can pick it up again.
I wonder how the Varios take a slow drop?

Not well. If expanded it can break the lever mechanism inside.

Better keep a roll of Duck Tape with me then...

I dumped my Mk 1 Multistrada once while parking up and the case was fine because the flimsy pannier tubular frame gave a bit which could be pulled back again. Maybe the stiff BMW QD mount puts all the force into the case?
