My 1100 runs fine below 4000 but from there on it seems to have a bad vibration and the engine sounds really harsh.
I,ve changed the fuel filter and cleaned the tank out as there was a small amount of water in it.
How often do you need to get them balanced and tuned?
Do you think this maybe the problem or if they were out would it be rough low down as well?

3 things worth considering Trippy.

1. Changing your throttle cables if showing signs of wear.
2. Keeping clean the cable guides on the throttle bodies as small stones and crap get in the way of the cable run (especially important with a bit of off roading)
3. Balancing is then worthwhile and relativley easy to do if you have access to a mate with a set of carbtune or equivalent guages.

Ta, I'll take a look at the cable guides tomorrow. CW quoted £110 to do plugs, balance and tappets, if things dont get better I'll book it in at the end of the month.

You'll only be able to tell if it's just the throttles out of balance by balancing them - then take it from there .

But, balancing the throttles is the final thing you do, after the valve clearences etc.

I'm only 20mins from CWs. If you wanted to pop over I could show you how to save £110.

Cheers mate, might well give you a call in the next couple of weeks when I,ve got a few hours spare. When is the best day/time to catch you in?
