well its been 2 weeks since dad passed on and as i'm the new owner of his old RT now called Jaffa i thought today would be a nice day to take the old girl for a blast
not before i'd bought her a brand new hawker battery and had a nightmare fitting it cos its smaller than the original and none of the wires were long enough
anywho got that bit sorted, went to the post office to sort out the tax and off i went
but in the back of my mind i'm thinking i'd forgotten something
anyway about 5 miles into the ride my mind finally kicks into gear and bugger i forgot to put the bolt back on the shock mount
so off with the seat and hey presto theres the shock bolt hanging in by the last few threads
so bolt back on and everything is hunky doory (came a bit close to joining you there pops
)
so whats my views on the rt, well its not my fireblade thats fer sure, but it does ride really nicely, not hard at all and it goes faster than you think. i was wizzing along at what felt like 60mph when i looked down to see 85 on the speedo
the brakes work well, not awesome like the blade but good enough. i think i'm going to enjoy riding the old girl, its different
mind you the guy on the r1 parked next to me in the pics gave me a strange look but that might have been down to my very worn out knee sliders on my leathers
