Many thanks mate. As you say, maybe in twelve months time.

Morocco promises to be crowded in January with as many as 15 from the GS sites and AdvRider--me, Number 6, Loz, Kev, ozzy and mate, MysteryB, smokingrider, ktmbill, two wheels good, jollyjoiner and mate, keralagreen and mate. Plus rumour of St. Eptoe on a magic carpet, not to mention James B and missus.

Hi guys,
thort it may be good to swap mobile numbers - handy to have some 'freindly' contacts out there - and good for emergencies - as lots of us are leaving at different times and different routes.

Anyway, I'll be travelling on New Years day - riding from Newcastle - France, Spain. My mobile is +44 (0)7712 866 722. Should be in rocco on the 4th Jan.

Anyone fancy connecting while over there, feel free - would be good. Anyone wanna add their number to this thread - great. I've started my own Blog to hopefully record the trip - its at www.dakarexpress.com and it can take comments, so you could use it to connect with me or each other by posting a comment to it.

All the best and safe trip :clap

Tyre change in Malaga or N.Africa? Anyone have a contact?

Hi guys,
Any of you have any contacts to let me get my tyres changed from road to knobblies in Malaga prior to the ferry across to Africa? I'm arriving about the 4th Jan into Malag (maybe 3rd depending on the ride). And would like to swap my tires from my scorpion standards to the TKC 80s I'll have strapped to the back. Then would like to pick em up and swap back on the way home at the later end of January (circa 28th).

Hope you can point me in a good direction.... or a tyre change fest where we can jump up and down on my scorps in a vain attempt to break the bead...

Cheers and all the best
Billy

I went all the way to Er Rachiddia and got max value before changing to knobblies

Lots of tyre places in Maroc although balancing may an an issue My guy`s balance machine didnt work

Cheers David, are you here now? I'm in N.Africa. Hotel tonite (wifi) and heading to Er Rachiddia tomorrow. Theres a ganga of other bikers there 'Ozzie' for one. Spoken to him on the phone - they've been all over the show. Looking forward to meeting them tomorrow - dont know em, just from the forum. I can get the tires done in Ceuta - but do you reckon best wait till Er Rachiddia? Anyway, wots cool is there's a kTm dealer here!!! Have a look at my blog at www.dakarexpress.com its a bit aimed at my freinds in the UK too, so not all bikey stuff....

If you are here in Africa, my number is +44 7712 866 722 happy to txt and maybe see if we bump into each other. Its probably not my brightest of ideas riding thru here in the dark on me own! But you do get a bit paranoid I think.

Battery nowrunnin goout bye

hi chaps,we are now in nouadhibou, tim was last seen in oarzazate a few days ago, whoever said that no mans land was tarmac is a wanker[got stuck in the sand]pushing on to nouakchott in a few days to search for cash

cheers.....loz

Yes, no man's land is a bugger. Had a lovely fall there myself tho only doing 5mph so it was more a gentle keeling over! I hate rocks and sand!

If you are exchanging cash in Nouakchott suggest you use the banks rather than the money changers in the middle of town. The rate I got was much better at the bank.

If, on the other hand you are trying to make money then can I suggest........!:o

Safe riding.:thumb :thumb

Peter.
