A bit of that H2O stuff …..

Quite a mixed bunch……

40 more miles to a golf club.

Smart casual was the dress code for dinner.

I asked if the “adventure hobo” look was ok, surprisingly computer says yes.

Day 15

Maidstone to Homes Various

Awake at 0500, what to do….

Start re planning my trip next week, a few hotel tweaks and routing alterations.

Heading to breakfast and then the joys of the A20 M25 M11 A14 M1

I truly despise the uk.

Thank god I’ve only got 11 days here ….

Then it’s new slippers from Colmar time …..

I’ll save 7.99 on postage by collecting on Rocket via the French Alls.

Bargain.

We had the courtesy to park and pay at an approved car park , then find these Dutch bikes just rode onto the pavement right outside the ice cream shop. Outrageous.

Park where you can see them…..

Not difficult in Europe.

Those pelicases have done more miles than all the bikes on display :) The Top Box on that same bike has been known to take the hump and tap the rider on the shoulder from time to time to have a stern word with him :) (Usually in Austria)

To be fair to David, that cafe had a 7 euro Caffe Kuken Deal so we all raped the place

Apfel Cake and Capouccino.

On the Moselle.

Lovely

So…….

2991 Miles.

In the hottest widespread heatwave in Europe ever.

6 out 6 back safe.

Route as advertised, less about 60 miles on last but 1 day.

For the regular defeatist / bed wetter / dramatic naysayers, it’s worth pointing out…..

Dover - No queue. No biometrics. No dramas whatsoever.

Ferry - No bikes toppled over.

Calais - No queue. No dramas whatsoever

French Police - no interaction.

Fuel - No issues.

Belgian Police - Helped us on day 2 - otherwise no interaction.

Bikes - No vandals, no tampering, no thefts.

Dunkirk - No queues, no dramas whatsoever.

Dover - No dramas at all.

I have no idea why people tend to look towards the worst case scenario, and morph that into the likely scenario.

Please don’t be put off touring in Europe.

2 Good.

Lite Lok - I’d recommend not spending 15 k on a bike and then 15 quid on a lock

Water bladder strapped to back seat of bike.

2 Bad.

Only 14 days

It’s another 12 days until I go again.

It’s another 12 days until I go again.

If you are still out there on the 23rd July, I'll buy you a shandy :)

You had a smoother ride than we did going through Holland last week, Europoort was strictly enforcing the rules last Saturday morning, Everyone out, finger prints, photos etc, helmets off for those on bikes. Was nothing to stress about, but many of our Bikermates were getting pissy about it all :) We were still through and clear quicker than the return to Hull though.

My ferry back is 23 July
