Damaged Adventure Tank Help

I just got a used Adv tank for a good price. I plan to install it on my 05 GS for an upcoming trip in October. It has a little abrasion (approx 4 inches in diameter), on the left side from a slow off-road drop. Does anyone know a good method to remove the scratches? Not looking for a like new finish, just want to smooth out the rough spots.

Post a pic so the scuff can be seen...... Is it just paintwork? or is it deep scuffs?
