I had an afternoon to kill in Newcastle/Gateshead yesterday. After a depressing hour up Westgate road (christ, that place has gone downhill since my last visit about 5 years ago), I headed to the `Baltic`, more for the architecture than the art but it was a case of "don`t knock it if you havn`t tried it."

Anyway, got parked and went into the building. Got the lift upto floor 5 and the viewing box and was quite impressed, next stop floor 2 and a Damien Hirst piece!

Piece of pretentious sh!te..............

What is that all about , how much did it cost the tax payer????

Am I missing something here?

Was working opposite one time, so had a wander across the new bridge.

One of the pieces looked like a crap garden shed on stilts.........

Its quite thought provoking isnt it! did you feel that the arangement of the stools was significant? sometimes they can suggest things that can only be felt when you are in the room. is that paintings in the next room, what the feck will they think of next? paintings at an art exhibition i ask you!
