Damn and blast, more unnecessary expense.

A bit chilly today and windy but, usually doesn’t put me off going for a ride. So a ride it was.
Parking up at a cafe, I opened the alu OEM top box to put gloves in and take my Thermos mug when wind caught the lid and broke both the hinges .

Noticed on Motorworks they are £38 each .

Time for a change to stainless hinges as the OEM have alway been the weak spot especially without the safety cable ( which was half installed on one side). My fault .

Are there hinges available that fit the original holes out there?
First will try the diy shops.

Looked at those links,
First does not open and second under maintenance.

On Amazon I see an E6-10-420 / 430-50 @ £16.34
These are for the constant torque position control hinges.

If the size is 430, I will order a few extras as well.

Will measure broken one to gauge correct dimensions before ordering.

The metal hinges preferred over existing plastic ones.

Just contacted rs-online to enquire the difference between E6-10-430-50 Symmetric and E6-10-440R-50 Asymmetric.
Large E6 hinge is the correct size and it is just the above parameters I am not sure about.
Hole distances are 34mm.

Especially as a pannier OEM one has a slight crack.

Those are the standard plastic hinges from SouthCo as OEM fitted.
What I bought are aluminium with friction torque control hinges.

The Southco Hinges I used are not plastic like the OEM ones , they are aluminium powder coated black
