Damn this bike is good

Had my first proper run on my 04 GS ADV today. Man what a bike and Im amazed how confidence inspiring the handling is. Even over White lines it hardly moves.Other bikes I have had always wiggled a little but my GS hardly moves.Is this down to the Michelin Anakee tyres ?

The Anakees are a superb choice, the bike itself is also at least a bit guilty for being so steady

I totally agree the suspension just soaks up anything on the road and gives a really supple ride.

So is the Anakee a relatively new tyre ?

Dunno, been riding Anakees off and on for about 2 years now. The reason I use different sets of different tires is that the Anakees have an even poorer mileage than Tourances. What I do now is use an Anakee in front and a TOurance at the rear (you want the best type of tire in front, the rear is much more controleable so you can make a compromise between feel and wear). This way they both last about the same mileage. If I`d continue using Anakees I`d go bancrupt... At the moment I have to get new tires every 2 months.

So how many miles do you get out of a rear Anakee?
I think I got about 7000 out of a Tourance.

I saw that 54 GSA, very nice bike!!, I was going to buy it myself, then I saw your sold sticker on it!!

Still, made up for it with ordering the 12GS in the window, and pick it up next Tues!!
