Now I’m back on the road, after being the crash test dummy for the Airheads and as a present we found a Fournales Shock for sale on ebay finding out it is shorter than the standard shock. It sounded even better for the short legged constipated Duck.

Shock fitted, 8 miles later it’s FCUKed. I rode to work and It felt like a hard tailed easy rider, as I had no shock movement. rather hard on my well padded bot!!, so on the way home I decided to stop at a garage to play with the air pressure and still have the option of increasing it again :clap.

Lets just say removing a touch of pressure made the “easy-rider” look even easier. So I decided to put more air in the shock…………..this did not work it just lost more air. So it looks like a “low-rider” it just would not move if it was that low.

One phone call later to my knight in a Ford Ranger (BamBam) and one of the spare shocks arrived and fitted for the ride home via the kebab wagon.

This is way it lost air…………………….the valve was broken and consequently came off.

Oh Civil

You are to late, Rob F :rob beat you to the shock with a PM, sorry

The valve caseing is still in the shock, if you look closely you can see the thread has sheared in two pieces.

You are right it probably is serviceable, but after today, just trying to fill it with air and the valve shears I wonder what would happen in an "off" while on the pist, green lanes, desert how stranded I could be.

It is back to springs for me.

Lilith, i'll dig out the phone number and address of the repair peeps for the
Fournales shocks in the UK, i have used them before Top service.
Lyn.

Thanks Kenny for pointing out the obvious :D

After all this I have got a normal shock on its way now. The fournales was to short (scary comment I thought I would never say) and possibly to sensitive/vulnerable for overlanding.

Lyn, thanks for the offer of the contact number but I think Rob F will be needing it :mmmm
