Dance with the Diavel.

Took out my decibel meter and measure the db at about 5500 revs which is halfway to redline .
It’s about 104 db. Noise limit in France for bike over 175cc is 80db.

Oops

Not sure many bikes in my area would pass that limit, but If it stopped the Hoon's revving and bouncing off their bike limiter on their sports bikes, while waiting at lights, junctions. Yes I am all for a lower limit.
Glad I replaced my baffle. Loud isn't necessarily faster.

Well it makes 13 more bhp so it’s faster 😜

104 is loud enough that that you would be refused at some tracks in the UK.

and just so you don't think I'm a prude , i have a Montjuic , and a 103 HD with V&H short shots

It is VERY loud .
I’ve checked and the French noise limit is 80db plus places like the Pyrenees are introducing noise limits .
I don’t want to be limited on where I can ride .
So as much as I love the Akra, I’m thinking I might get the OE system put back on and mapped back to standard.
The OE exhaust is at a mutual mates house near Portsmouth .
I’m thinking about getting the first service done at Ducati Bournemouth so could pick up the OE system from near Portsmouth, then drop it off in Bournemouth.
Then when I get the first service done in next few months , get them to refit and map it then see if they’ll sell the Akra on say 10% commission.
It cost £5300 so they could sell it for say £3300 and return me £3k ish .
The OE exhaust still looks pretty cool .

Apparently it’s an all day job to remove and refit

I see Vandemon do a switchable stealth exhaust buts its still 96db in quiet mode

i got stopped by a Gendarme this year , on my 1200Sport Guzzi , with a GPR silencer , with the baffle in .
he made me rev it up , to check , he thought it was too loud , i pointed out the markings , and the baffle .
turning up in front of him at 80 , might have had something to do with it , but he had no gun.

How do you find the forward pegs ?
Can you fit standard ones ?
Bike looks lovely by the way

The licence code is also a pain - when purchased new it is sold with an Akra/Ducati code that gets registered to the VIN of the bike to allow the EVO maps. A bit of a pain to transfer it to another VIN :confused2:

Pictures of the Montjuic would be appreciated 👍

Going to leave the Akra on for now .
Ducati Bournemouth hourly labour rate is £115 and they reckon £1000 to change exhaust.
Ducati Rennes is €100 per hour so £86 and they reckon 4.5/5 hours labour so €450/500 or less than half the price of Bournemouth !
So I’ll take OE exhaust to leave at house in Brittany and play it by ear .

Yay, was hoping it remained, for as long as possible. Nosie abatement camera/tech is the most effective deterrent.

Yarmouth seafront has a 'Noise' camera on the seafront & it has been very successful at stopping the car/bike meets, sorry noisy twats attending these events. They all gather at the local retail park with the 24hr Maccies instead.

Play it by ear, boom boom 💥

I’ve also got a black and silver number plate so there’s a chance the noise camera won’t recognise it . Only one way to find out 😀

I’ve now collected the OE exhaust from a mutual mate in the UK.
It’s massive and weighs a ton ,something like 20kgs more than the Akra.

This is just the rear end and collector box
