hi - anyone got a pair of these?

I wear a 36 jean and am not sure whether to get the 36 or 38?

I would be grateful if anyone in W London has a pair I could try on

cheers

sam

why would you want to wear another blokes pants:confused: especially with a name like darien:ymca

That's wrong on a number of levels... but if it floats yer boat and I ain't called darien by the way it's alright by me:nenau

I am a 34 in regular trousers and the 34 darian are fine. There are two waist settings on them and an elastic panel in the waist

I am a 34 short in regular trousers and they don't make a short fitting in the Darien or the AD1 that I have :( So it's a bit long. Good trousers though.

The AD1 is cheaper at the moment because there was a production error. They are the newer design to the Darien .. i.e. improved shape etc. Also it is made in China so it's probably much better quality than the made in USA ones :D

I see they have Hi Viz ones on sale too.

Did you buy the 34" darien or the 36"?

sam

34 regular and it just feels long on me as I have short legs. The materials and function of the thing is standard aerostich which means it works without fuss.

Sorry novice second question - did you have any issues wiht the AD1 as others have reported silly leg lenghts - also did you go for the hip pads?

finally how is the knee armour attached.

sam

What is this about about silly leg lengths?? Who reported it? I don't remember anyone here having AD1?
Maybe that is why mine feels so long? ... although they seem the correct length for a "regular" :nenau

The lady at Aerostich told me the reason the AD1 are on sale because of a manufacturing error on the velcro for the knee pads. The manufacturer saw that the spec was for same spacing/size of velcro for knee pads irrespective of size of trouser and thought that looked odd. So they adjusted the velco in the larger trousers to "balance" them. However, aerostich uses the same knee pads irrespective of trouser size. They have put extra velcro on the ones with wrong velcro location, hence they decided to sell the items in the sale.

Now they might be telling porkies. So if you call them and ask why they are in the sale and see if they give the same answer.

Knee pads are included. Didn't get Hip pads. Should I have? :nenau

If you are worried then best not to buy mail order from the US. Otherwise give them a call and ask them. That's what I have done in all my purchases. The ladies that handle sales seem very helpful and spends time going through sizing with you. Maybe you could ask them directly about selling funny length items. Maybe it was stated to the buyer but when they ranted on a bulletin board ... they somehow forget to mention it

cheers I am going to try and speak to one of the ladies tomorrow rather than the bloke Shaun who I did speak to

thanks for the input Novice

I will be at the Ace cafe tomorrow morning if you want to see what a 34 R AD1 trouser looks like.

bugger missed the post. Well I went ahead and ordered the 36 should be here in about a fortnight. If its too small will just have to exchange them or sell them here.
