En route we have to stop, some pilot has had to ditch the glider in a 2 acre field. Must have been one hell of a brown underpant moment. Photo from wall at side of the road.

We ride up over the top, stop for a photo and discuss how pilot must have landed that glider.

Getting cloudy over there need to get home rinse bikes off, lot of salt on the roads today, dried and under covers. Until the next bimble.

Thanks for the lovely account. We were up there on Sunday, in the car, and also stopped at Bakewell and Monsal Head car park.
It was absolutely freezing, a lovely sunny day but a biting wind.
Respect for being out for so long on the bike that day. I hope you had heated vests, or at least very good thermals on.

The glider in the field

Which way was the wind blowing from, relative to the glider? I'd guess from right to left as we look at it.

Nice pics and report of a great area :thumb2

Cracking pics, must get down to the Peaks soon

Camera is Olympus U Tough 8000 a gem take anywhere use all weathers job. New G12 is better but stays at home unless its better weather.
Post them to promote the Peaks and to nudge others into posting their areas. Our fantastic country in all weathers. :thumb
