It's go two wheels so it uses (motor)bicycle tyres. With rounded profiles so it'll go round corners after a fashion. If it had 3 or 4 wheels then car tyres, nice and square. The origin of the engine doesn't affect anything.

Have a bad accident on the bike when it is fitted with car tyres and the insurance will invalidate your cover

Agreed - the tyre must be approved by the motorcycle manufacturer or the tyre manufacturer for use on the model of motorcycle.

Unless you can find a car tyre which is approved for use on a R3 or GS

That frame's so long it'll struggle to go round corners anyway. Maybe car tyres are best after all.

It could certainly extend the range of knobblies available for the GS, might go and check the tyre sizes on my massey ferguson.

If you lot had twopence between ya you'd recognise it as a 1977 Dneypr frame........ a BMW copy.
The Fiat engine did infact put out 60 bhp when new, welldone.
The Dneypr was aroung 35bhp....if you were lucky.
Frame has been stretched 14".

Has no one on here ever fitted chopper forks, extended swing arms, added ape hangers to a road bike, fitted knobbly tyres to a BSA Bantam????

Funny that someone who allegedly runs 5 bikes (not including the Triumph), rides 365 days of the year and is a self employed mechanical engineer would be this foolish?

On a correctly inflated bike tyre you have approx 25% contact patch on the road, maximum.With a car type profile you have approx 40% contact patch on the road.

As I ride 365. I ride around 28k on motorways, thats straight lines lads. I do 5-6 tyres a year. This is about the 28k motorway miles and the 2k miles around town.

And it's only 4 bikes, unless you count the Cossack/Fiat......with bike tyres.
