After some feedback on dash cameras, any advice would be greatly appreciated as there seems to be a few to choose from, thanks everybody

Presumably, as you have posted in this section, you are thinking about fitting to a r1200/1250gs/gsa, so which is it? Do you want just a forward facing camera or a dual set up ie forward & rearward facing? Do you want GoPro standard videos for recording a trip or simply SMIDSY evidence gathering? Is the bike standard or lowered? Have you looked at the many YouTube videos showing how to fit and use bike dash cameras? Do you have a budget in mind? Do you have any deep seated objections to buying Chinese supplied (almost all electronics are Chinese made) goods?
Narrow it down a little as to what you have in mind and you may receive the information you seek.

What do you reckon ? Posted in the WC BMW GS Motorcycle forum ? :D

Innov seems to be a very popular choice. :thumb2
It’s an optimistic interpretation, but sadly not always accurate

Don’t have one myself but Innov seem to be highly rated.
If you do go for one theres a code/ link on the description of Teapotones vids on YouTube which gives you a 5% discount

I am after front and rear cameras to go on a gs , there must be plenty riders out there with dual cameras on there gs bikes, not too bothered about cost just want a good camera to be fitted then left to do its job

Would a factory lowered bike be any different from the standard height bike REF dash cam:nenau

Innov or Thinkware M1. Probably the top 2, the Innov system is more compact but some say the M1 is more robust.

Could be. I have a VIOFO fitted to my standard height r120gs. The only place I could realistically find to mount the control unit and maintain access to the memory card was mounted directly atop the bike CPU directly under the rider’s seat. With the seat on the low position or a lowered seat, this would not be possible. I’m making a giant leap by thinking that a lowered bike may have a lowered seat fitting as standard for the vertically challenged. This of course may not be the case. The point is, by simply asking ‘you got a camera mate? whasit like?’ might not helpful generate responses.

PS: my VIOFO cameras are good.

Innov are very good and quite discreet, I have their first version the K1 and it’s still doing a good job although I understand the later versions are even better.

Innovv K5. Superb quality footage. :thumb2

Absolutely INNOVV - choice of 2 to go for. If you intend using the footage for blogs, or for high quality footage for video's, then the K5 is definitely the one to go for as it can record in 4K. If however (like me) you just want a very good front and rear camera that you will likely only want the footage from in the event of an "incident" then go for the INNOVV K3 (the footage from this is still very good (useable for video's), but is only in 1080p, plus the sound isn't all that clever).

I have the K3 on mine with the bracket that fits over the headlight and it works an absolute treat for what I want (footage in the event of an incident, odd video's).

(For reference, I have mine mounted on the front of my R1250GS using this mount - https://innovv.co.uk/shop/accessories/k3-accessories/k5-front-camera-mount-holder-for-r1250gs-adv/ works for both the K3 and K5)
