Just wondering if anybody here has tried this
http://www.datatool.co.uk/consumer/products/products/index.php?product=snitcher
It seems like a good idea, sends a text message to your mobile when the shock sensor is triggered.
The thing is, on the website there's no picture, don't know how big it is, how to install it (I don't like normal alarms that mess up the electrics) and most of all does it really work (reliability)???

I had a pager on my Datatool Evo 3 and 999 - not overly impressed - always figured that by the time I got to the bike (if It was parked in the open where it could page me and not in an underground car park), the pesky thief could then mug me, have wallet, phone and keys.....

The Datatool Text Alert or 'Snitcher' is approx 5x4x1". Diy fit, needs a switched and constant positive feed. Will connect to a Datatool or other manufacturers alarm via the paging wire. BUT will work as a completely standalone product.

The box has a movement sensor, adjustable fom your mobile phone text, a modem dialler for instant texting, and you can connect it to a high decibel external siren to turn it into a noisy alarm as well.

If your bike is disturbed it sends a text message advising you to your mobile.

As an added feature it advises you by text of a low battery voltage too, and if your bike is nicked, for a one off fee of £30, you can track your bike to a 'cell' usually an area of a few hundred square metres, a low cost tracker, in towns anyway. A good location guide at least.
