Just booked my holiday flights and now know I'm free so it looks like the Airhead and it's foolish rider is going to have another bash at the 12 hour event.

I wish... but I don't think it would be sensible as my first event :o

Hoping to lose my cherry at the Cambrian on the HP2...

Not me! Salma Hayek's snake dance is very nice but I don't fancy battling a load of vampires.

Thats from Dusk 2 Dawn :blast:D

If Salma Hayek was going to be there, there would be a whole more spectators!

A couple of us are coming over from Ireland to do it. Will be doing it on much more sensible 250s though! Enjoyed reading your account of it last year Wreford, and as a result got the entry in this year!

I'd love it but am totally skint at moment...:tears

I even have a slogan printed up

"I'm slow but aleast I'm shit!"

See you there... what are you guys doing for pits?

I was able to leave my extra fuel and bits with another team last year

What's the terrain like at D2D?

I've ridden a couple of times at Walters Arena but think I've only ridden the easier stuff i.e. Level 1 course followed by a slightly harder trail ride with Patsy Quick last year and last week riding a white 450 enduro bike for a few hours over a 1km enduro course followed by a hardish trail ride with Matt Hall. Is thew course restricted to the muddier, boggier ground or do they use some of the faster gravel trails so that you can have a breather on each lap?

How long is each lap anyway and what's a respectable number of laps for a 3 man team of non-experts to cover in 12 hours?

You'll find some video's on the D2D web site which give you a good idea.

There very was very little boggy ground and a some wet climbs that became quite tough.

There where some gravel trails and for me they allowed a slight breather but the reality is it's full on for the full 15-18mile lap.

How many laps?

I did three, the first took 2hours 40 mins and when I set out on the other two I realy did not think I would make it round... However on the last one I got round in 2 hours (that's why I took a rest on the track to avoid having to do another lap... caught on camera page 480 2008 TT cat.)

Every lap I would have to stop and take a rest the first was after just 4 miles... this year I'm fitter and have acquired a smidgen more skill so I'm looking for 5 laps... but if it's wet it could be hell for me.

The best riders rip around at an amazing speed

Wreford,

We've a small gazebo that well stick up if its not too windy. The other Irish crew (Chubby Thumper and friends) have a more fancy setup I think. Your welcome to stow your stuff at ours if you want. When are you arriving? We're getting the morning boat to Fishguard on Sat. Hope to arrive at the site around midday. You'll spot the irish reg plates on the back of the KTMs.

If the sun shone between now and next week you might get a few dry spots!:D

Possu, are you doing it then?????

Wreford.

Thanks for the info. :thumb#

Am I right in thinking you entered as a one man team?

Orla,

I won't be entering, I had a tiny window of opportunity that may have worked out but I'd already committed to something else that would have been hard & unfair of me to get out of for several reasons.

God luck to those that enter. :thumb2
