Hi All, just been reading a few threads on this topic! Anyway ill keep it brief.... day one of planned 5.5k adventure around Europe. 0430 start reset the trip meter and off to Dover for ferry. First fill up I notice the fuel range is 199 miles where normally its 240 ish and climbs a little for the first few miles after. I've done 400 miles so far and fuel consumption is showing 53mpg like it always. I've been doing the speed limit on the autoroute so 80mph or 130kmh if you prefer. I'm one up with usual luggage on board. Any ideas why it should do this yesterday resetting the trip is obs the big clue maybe?

It adjusts as you ride. I'm not seeing what your problem is with 53mpg. Were you expecting more?

No not at all, it's always been 53mpg ish, that's fine but why is the range now so much lower if the mpg is the same and I filled it to the brim?

Fuel strip / float is sticking.

It may sort itself, it may not.

Use the trip meter, remembering to zero it each time you fill the tank.

Not sure, but I think I may have done. Just done the calculations the proper way for mpg and got 50.2 yesterday and 56mpg this morning. Just seems the gauge is under reading. Just to be sure I filled up at this stop and it took just 6.5l till full, better safe than sorry. All seems good, thanks for your help! Oh and just for a laugh I forgot to put the sidestand down when I got off at the petrol station and the bike toppled over, just no stopping it! What feckin idiot! Off to Austria next!
