And what a day, members of my local IAM had a open day with Ocean Plymouth the hospitality was great, pasties laid on for lunch, cream scones in the afternoon and of course plenty of coffee as well. Of course the weather helped too but those down at Treen will know all about that.
The bikes, well most of the range was available to try, going from the baby 'X' models up to the K1200s. Most riders getting out on at least 3 bikes during the day and with Oceans location it was easy to get out on to either fast dual carriage way or the fabulous roads on the edges of Dartmoor.
Me the main bike I wanted to try was the X country being vertically challenged the X cross a bit too tall for me. But the X country what a little bike reminded me of my early days on my 2 stroke trail bikes use the gears and a little rocket. if it was a car I would describe it as a go kart o responsive if you used the gears nipping around the lanes of Dartmoor. For anyone who's looking for a smaller bike I think I could recommend this little beauty although on the minus side I don't think I could tour as far as I used to on my old F650GS.
Next up was the Xmoto well that really gives the X factor like all the other riders that day came back with grin and the sore a**e but never had so much fun without risking the license. Take this beauty more than 20 miles from home and you will not be walking far once you get there, I have heard complaints of the GS12 seat you should try this one.
Sorry no photos guys but once again Thanks to Ocean BMW Plymouth for a great day out. For those that are interest I believe they will be at this years BMAD at Torquay 4th -6th May and last year they had all their demonstrators available at the show.
