day trip to the vosges

hi ,

few of us planned a 2 day trip to central switzerland but the weather was crap the last days so decided to go to the vosges instead as its only 30 mins away....


we left at 11am and i got back just before 10pm so a long day in the seat.....

in our group was our local riding god Dave the aussie with his KTM who knows the area inside out so no need for any of that GPS nonsense

i find the riding in the vosges far nicer than the alps as its a flowing ride instead of hairpins, although the scenery cant be matched.....

wont bore u anymore with we did this.we did that

The pictures actually don't do the area justice. Swissrob is right...the roads are flowing and high speed with nice but not excessive elevation changes. We rode parts of the Vosges on the way to Pirmasens on our Moto trip mid June and it was great. The Alps are all about hairpins...

Sometimes we short change the 'older' mountain changes eg. Black Forest, Palatinate (Pfalz), Vosges. For our North American readers the equivalent comparison are the Appalachians in the East (vs. the Rockies).
