Daytime Riding lights (DRL)

In theory you can have the bike lite up like a Christmas tree providing the obligatory lights are as per the Con & use/ MOT regulations. Providing no red to the front no white to the rear and no flashing or anything likely to cause a distraction to other road users.

Strange how pedal cyclists are allowed flashing lights.

Agreed, because some of those front lights they have are incredibly bright.

The flashing lights have to be bright to conform to BS. The law requires a flashing light to emit 4 lumina, which I think is more than double that required for a fixed light.

Technically motorcycles and bicycles have to run side and rear reflectors as well but nearly everyone removes them. As long as you can be seen I think the police are happy.

This thread is worth the £12 alone.
You can’t bank on this section to keep on giving.

I bought one of the yellow DRL covers from Ali Express less than £6 delivered if I recall.
You get 4 magnets that stick to the glass and the yellow cover has 4 magnets that’s how they are attached so you can quickly take them off & clean them,

I remember when people fitted rally lights to their cars and had yellow glass on them
