Hi,
Has anyone else had this happen to their Daytona boots? If so how did you get it sorted?

oh dear ..how long have you had the boots ? my Roadstar GTX sprung a leak after 5 years and Daytona just gave me a new pair ..well impressed

Hi DC, I bought them second hand last year & were really lightly used. Did you deal directly with Daytona to get them replaced?

I had mine repaired under warranty, the shop I bought them from sent them back to the importers, who sent them to Daytona in Germany.

Tran Am are the importer

Mates boots have gone the same, and he only wears them on two trips per year!

Interested to know how you get on but think he's already bought some new.

Happened to mine, but after 15 years of use!

Took them to Chiswick Honda (nearest Daytona dealer) who then sent them off for a full re-sole and refurbish. They came back like new :thumb2

took them to the place I purchased them and they sent them back to daytona .great customer service in both cases ..was well pleased

Common enough occurrence with older Daytonas. There's a thread on it here

Mine are ten years old and I got them repaired by a specialist boot repairer who stuck two leather inserts on 'em, same as in the pic on the above thread. That was two years ago and they're still going strong :thumb

this is what I would do if the rest of the boot is okay - a mate tried the cheap option of a self repair but it a) looked awful and b) didn't last long.

Get a cobbler to stick on a leather or rubber patch.

If the boots are knackered you can send them back for a full refurb but compare the cost to a new pair from FC-Moto first.

I think if they were mine I would cut off the loose bits blather them with dubbing stuff a carry on

I have same boots wanting to be sorted with new inside heel area but was told £160 just to re-sole. What were you charged?

Yes, same with mine, which I bought second-hand, so probably quite a few years old. They leaked badly in torrential rain last year, so rather than have them refurbished I bought a new pair.

I was told £200 for a full re-furb incl postage etc

I bought a new pair of Daytona Roadstar GTX from FC Moto for £229 posted here, before the pound dropped

Buy new, no brainer...............i use my old leaky pair on bright sunny days and for knocking around town

slightly different situation, mine went away to germany about 4 weeks ago with velcro coming away. Yet to have a call from infinity motorcycles to tell me they are back and ready to be collected. If anything I am a little pissed off about it. Luckily I still have my alpine stars J6 sneaker type shoes from my scooter days and are ok on a GS. may look strange buy they are ok.
