Totally gutted.
My Daytonas leaked today as I rode to work. Only a year old and they are the top notch all singing and dancing gortex fellas. I off to get some plastic bags.

IAN, Take them back and ask for another pair!

Ian

I ride with Daytona Roadstar Gore-tex boots, they're 2 years old now and are the best most comfortable pair of boots I've owned :D !
Are you wearing your trousers inside or outside your boots and can you be 100% sure your boots leaked?

i.e. Rain didn't run down inside of them?
This has happened to me on a couple of occasions when I was stuck out in a storm, the rain just ran the legs of my leather jeans into the tops of my boots, thus gaining wet feet! Problem solved when no gaps are possible from the top, i.e. I'm wearing waterproof jeans over the boots  = dry feet :D

It's quite common that any boots, even the best waterproof Gortex ones would apear to leak if waterproof overtrousers aren't worn over the tops of the boots.

Hope this helps ;) , if not just do what Vern said

Thanks all , yes trousers are on the outside. Looks like ill send them to Prestatin.

daytona boots

I have a set of Daytona Highways.. Ace boots, but the zip went on the right one. I went back to the dealer who was happy to send them back to the manufacturer, but there would be a 4-6 WEEK turnaround time.
As I couldn't be bootless for that long, ONYERBIKE nr. Aylesbury recommended a repairer to replace the zip. He certainly fixed it but made a right ugly bodge job on it!!
Brilliant boot though!!

Boots waxed??

I've had some road stars for five years now which have never let water in (been re-soled & new gear change pad after about 50,000 miles riding). Always keep them well waxed with Kiwi Wet Pruf (or some such spelling) I know the goretex should keep 'em waterproof but l find water just runs off leather for hours, even in the worst of storms.

I also rub same into zips & material around them. Worth a try if you cant get anything out of the importers - & mine took about 12 weeks to get repaired, they send them back to Germany in a batch when they've got enough.

Now got another (identical) pair that l bought in Germany, so always got boots when others in for repair. Apparently if you keep the leather in good nick they can be re-soled numerous times - which appeals to the Yorkshireman in me (Scotsman with the generosity squeezed out of him & all that - oh dear that should cause some constenation);)

Mine sprung a leak too..

but they were just outside warranty.

BikeStop sent them back for repair for me. It took nearly 2 months (over Christmas) and cost 100 quid but the boots came back looking like new - new soles, goretex lining cleaned and polished. Good value.

A large part of the delay in repairing is that Ton's of Prestatyn wait until they have enough boots for a batch before sending off to Germany.

btw, I believe that your warranty is EC-wide, so it should make no difference that you bought them in Germany.

Travellers!

Daytona Traveller, best boots I've ever owned, not leaked yet and are worn on a daily basis, but din't arf take some breaking in!:D

Just bought a pair of the daytona roadster goretex - marvellos, more comfy than my shoes!

they had some of the EVO boots - amazing, the inner boot is like something out of terminator! fortunatley for my wallet, they didnt have them in my size!
