Sometime ago i was looking at getting some remus headers to go with the remus end can that i already have.
Unfortunately, i still havent been able to purchase any due to being out bid on fleabay.
Any quick question....

What would / does happen if the bike has de-catted headers and end can as far as the fueling goes...?
Is it essential to get the remap done..?
I'm hoping to get a remap sorted but wondered if it was recommended to not fit the headers until the day of the remap?

Thanks

Which year bike?

Apparently the later bikes shouldn't need (but benefit from) set up properly after fitting the pipes - I have the Remus headers (for around 250 miles so far) and Akra end can on my TC - the bike is too loud for my pillion's liking, so for distance work I may have to go back to the catted headers.

My apologies, its a 55 plate

The Lambda sensors will sort the fuelling without the CAT no problem. You only really need a remap if you want a straight through system and use a K&N air filter.

However, a remap or Power Commander will make a big difference to the whole ride whether you decat or not.

Fit a baffle. £10 for mild steel to. £25 for stainless

I have baffles in my Akraprovic shotgun system.

Sent from my phone with mangled spelling

:)

That is with the baffle fitted :( doesn't make too much difference with the headers - the Akra can was generally fairly quite, until I added the Remus headers.

The catalyst is one very effective baffle clogging up the gas flow. It also depends what sort of baffle you have. The cheap mild steel baffles from ebay make my VERY loud Akra shotgun into very quite things.
