Dead battery

A friend has recently bought a 1200 gs 05 and he has a brand new odessey battery, his charging system is fine but when he leaves his bike for a couple of days it is completely dead any ideas ? Thanks

Hi.

The test will be to charge the battery up and leave it disconnected from the bike for a couple of days to see if it's the bike or the battery that's at fault. Or if ihe's a wizz with an ammeter, then putting it in series with the battery earth lead and seeing how much current is drawn when the bikes not running.

IIRC there has been one report of the canbus controller being faulty, and then the person had battery problems

Or the software might be faulty / need of an update.

An ammeter test has been done, there is a drain of 0.09amps for 30/60 secs (immobiliser) then it drops to 0.0

Sounds to me like it's the battery then
