Dead TFT

All was fine yesterday. Today the TFT died, resurrected (but without display), died - and repeat every couple of minutes. When dead, nothing on the left switch set worked. In the brief periods of life, indicators, horn etc worked but not the display.

BMW Assist came but couldn’t fix - diagnosed a control unit fault. Bike then taken away to a Service Centre. Hope it doesn’t take long to get fixed.

Anyone had a similar issue?

It's not very common. But it happens. A swap is all you do. Or send it off for third party repair.

It’s with the dealer. Less than a year old so under warranty. I’ll report the diagnosis and solution when I get it.

Diagnosis is the TFT is knackered. New one being fitted tomorrow so fingers crossed it solves the problem.

Big up for the dealership - comms have been excellent and proactive on their part.

So, collected the bike today. All sorted. Many thanks to North Oxford Motorrad for great service.

They had the bike for 2 days, diagnosed the issue, fitted a New TFT, problems solved. Oxford couldn’t have been more helpful.

how many people who buy a 3 year old car would expect to replace the cluster ?

slightly fewer than those that have had to have a few naff solder joints and some budget capacitors changed on the 2005 car ??

and an anathema to those driving around in their 40 year old car that never even thought the cluster could go wrong ???
