Does anyone know what products BMW dealers (maybe others) use to prep/post wash customer vehicles? :nenau I have used most commercially available brands/products but I can't match the way my bike looks when it comes back from Cotswold Motorrad and BVM before them.

I did ask them what they used but they just said that it's trade stuff that the general public can't get hold of - but I bet there's someone out there who knows - and can! ;)

Back to Black (silicone product ...Not Amy Whitehouse:blast)Rubber dressing
WD40 ( engine cleaner)
Flash Dash (instrument panels)
Mr Sheen ( on plastics & paintwork)
MER ( paintwork)

You can make it better than a 'trade' finish but the main ingredient is
Elbow Grease (thats the expensive one):augie

Good Luck

thinking about Amy Winehouse I thought it was gonna be some valet drug delivery service....:blast

I think they use polish polishers and a jet wash....:thumb2

Polish or polish, what's in a word?

Is that polish Polishers or Polish polishers? Any ways, you're right coz I met him. Shame he didn't speak English though. Every question I asked him got the same response - "Is good yes?" - whether that was Budwar, sausage or the bike cleaner we'll never know....:D

He did have a pressure washer as well. But as for Magwa's elbow grease, he's way off base. I saw the bike wheeled out of the workshop to the cleaning bay and I was presented with the keys 10 minutes later - job done! :thumb

Dealer Valet Cleaning

....they use something very similar to:

SDoc 100 Motorcycle Gel Total Cleaner

you spray it on, leave it to foam up for upto 30mins (you can scrub the stubborn bits if you want), and then wash it off with a good stream of water (they use a pressure washer but are well trained not to aim it at the electrics).

Back to Black (also made by SDoc) - is brilliant too if your black engine casing is fading

and then they spray on a can of AFC50 which gives your bike this amazing "brand new" looking finish and it keeps rust and salt corrosion at bay.

A really good formula but a tad expensive to do this everytime you wash your bike (circa £30 a go!)
