Well lads.

Just thought I'd mension my experiance with Cotter Mottercycles.

A mate put me in touch with them when he first heard I was getting back on a bike as I needed some cheap but good biking gear and he said I'd get everything i needed there. I paid them a visit and got everything I needed at a great price.

The suit I went for was the Akito Desert suit. I seemed fine for a few weeks as I wasn't riding much but when I got back from the fish dash I noticed that the pockets on the jacket where ripping at the top flap and the trousers where fraying on a seem to so I brought it back to simon just before I left for Africa and he promised to replace it when I got back from my trip.

I dropped over to him two days ago and he told me he could no longer get his hands on the Akito stuff and gave me a Richa Sky textile suit in its place. I have to say the new Richa suit seems worlds apart from the Akito one in every way. It has a built in back protector and the knee and elbow padding is a better fit and over all I am just much happier with the new suit.

So thanks very much to Simon in Cotter motorcycles for a great service. :thumb2

Really happy. :D

Haven't dealt with Cotters but did purchase a Richa Adventure suit last year and I haven't looked back since.:thumb2

I would not touch Cotters with someone elses 10ft barge pole. They are wankers and there's not many shops I'd say that about.

1) I went in there looking to buy an FJR he had. Asked for a test ride and got laughed at (literally). They had a nice little audience of customers which made it worse. In a very condescending manner they said "you won't get test rides in Ireland". I replied that I'd just had one in Killeens, and two booked for Duffy's and Bikeworld later that day. He then just stared me out of it until I walked away. This wasn't Simon but some other prick who works there. Simon came out an apologised but the damage was done. Riding bikes 14 years and I felt like an 11 year old.

2) My sister was looking for gear and she ordered stuff with them. Told to ring the next week which she did. No sign, so ring again next week. This went on for a few weeks so she called in. Don't know the particulars of what happened next but the bloke in there picked up the lid she had ordered and threw down into the back of the stockroom. (might have been a case of getting in the wrong lid. His temper frightened her)

3) A mate was getting tyres for his GTR1400. He ordered particular tyres and told they were in. Called and they had gotten the wrong ones. My mate checked the rating on them and knew they were not suitable. Guy in the shop convinced him that the tyres were suitable so they were bought - all that stuff on the internet is bullshit apparently and he was in the business years so knew better. The tyres frightened the shit out of him on the way home and he checked the Internet. No way were the tyres suitable for a big sports tourer. No way would Cotters take them back either.

There's a nice little clique in that shop and if you ain't part of it, you are a second class citizen. I've often gone in there and the boys would be chatting to their courier mates or whoever. You'd be left standing there for 10 minutes until they could be bothered talking to you. I've heard loads more about them too. Some lads love them on biker.ie and others slate them.

If they are the last bike shop left open in Ireland, I'll happily take the ferry to Wales. They are c**ts. Rant over.
