deals done new 1100 owner

today i,ve taken the plunge and done the deal for a 1999 1100gs,2 owners,corbin seat,remus can,engine guards,fsh,25500 on clocks.they was asking for £2995 but i thrashed out a deal without the luggage,i,m collecting friday can,t wait,i,ll let you know how i get on.after running the africa twin for 6 months what am i to expect in comparison?hope i like it otherwise it may be up for grabs in the for sale forum friday

i've had it almost three months now

I have had no problems at all, these things are so solid and well built

I would recommend changing the three oils, plugs and filters then ride it

I wouldn't take it much over 5 grand, there is nothing there except alot of noise, they are best at 3500-4500, ride the torque surge and enjoy

That's because little goes wrong and it's the best model by far

My recommendations are...

Braided Hoses....

replace the screen with a MRA Vario. (From 'Jaws' on this site)

The shocks will possibly be on their way out... Wilbers. (not cheap... and maybe not a priority - but worth thinking about for the future - they truly tansform the bikes handling)

what else? Absolutely nothing important... If you can live with the seat - marvellous.
