Dear Mr Steptoe,

I had a donation of a "new" 2004 ish Cat and pipe so I thought keep the nice "new" one as spare while we gut the old one....

So swapped the two out (mine is a 99) and the old one went Klunk , Klunk ???

Will not bother you any more, but after a gutting, I found this???

Is this common for a CAT to break free?????

Can i have have you're drinking?

Lost me on whatever you're writing about!

The loose bit in the pic is the catalytic converter bit, it had broken loose and was bou ncing around in the exhaust, but yes I had partaken in a few pints over a hot Braai...:augie:augie

Rub it in why don't ya! Just as we're slipping into the cold dark nights of winter you're sat round a barbie quaffing castle.

I'm not jealous, honest.

Lesotho in 10 days time........ whoops:beerjug:

I've only ever had one rattly cat - i didn't cut it open i just binned it so i can't say if it was the same problem as yours.

That is a 1999 cat OK with only 90,000 on the clock, but it shows how little corrosion we get...

Cheers,
