Death of a GS

Whilst I know it's a different country and wasn't the issue in this case the white lines in France are very slippery even in the dry.

just hope its nothing to do with this recall on the forks , have you sorted steve getting himself and the bike home ok ?

Too much damage to tell, but this was early June before knowing much about it.

Was his rear shock ok? I wonder if it was possibly leaking gas and the bike bottomed while lent over and dug in?

Don't think so, it I had it set one up, and I'm more the size of 1 and 2/3rds so I'm thinking set too low.

Key thing is your mate walked away unharmed.

I did thanks all the gear did it's job, I used all my lives up on that hill. Boots and trousers and helmet a right off.

Glad Steve's ok, must have been near the mark on loosing grip, in this case just over, we've all been there & judging by the look of the back tyre fucking hell.. (sweat)
The roads in the pico's are great, but a single stone on a different line to the guy ahead can be trouble if your already pushing it..

I would like to claim bragging rights to that tyre but most of that marking to the edge is from the slide across the road.

View from the other end were it happened, coming through a right hander.

Twas a long slide☹️

Regards

steve

Too close to the inside of the bend which is still going round to the right ? Has to lean more to avoid ending up in the oncoming lane. Something about the direction of the marks in relation to the bend look odd to me. From the point you stop riding it the bike will go in a straight line directly to the outside of your intended course. Where was he when it hit the deck and from that point had the bend opened or was it still closed ?

Don't worry , we all noticed the huge chicken strip on the left hand side of the tyre in the first couple of shots :D

Glad you are ok . It looks the the headlights , clocks etc got wiped out when the front need took out the upright of the Armco . I'm assuming all that fruit end damage in addition to the slide damage is what made it a write off ? Shame , it looked like a very nice bike :(

Hard to tell from that angle but It looks a bit nasty that corner. It looks like a 2 rights very close together , pretty much a double apex right, and that second right seems to tighten up quite a bit unlike the first.

Looks like a catastrophic loss of concentration to me..........

That from a Welsh rugby union supporter

Mate fluff knows, I honestly couldn't tell ya, all I know is I was still looking up through the bend when I realised the bike wasn't going that way anymore

It was a great bike, bought as the keeper, front wheel, folks and bars all twisted, it hit smack centre on the upright to the Armco hell of a force it also crimped flat the near side exhaust header pipe. Probably twisted the frame as well. Assessor said 9k to put it back together, and that wasn't a BMW one.

What I will say is the motoart head covers are bloody incredible, still a right off though

Single apex and uphill , just a good bendi, having seen the video iit was opening up for him before the bike went pete tong

You have given the team the pictures, the location, the bloke's shoe size and taste in underwear.... now give them the video of the fecker falling off.

I'd like to see it for no other reason than curiosity and the fact that Bear might then have to break out the sandwiches once all the 'experts' have been assembled

I think Andy will PST the video once he has the insurance money safely in his pocket

Speaks volumes....
No it does not actually

what it says is that one can never be too careful where insurance is concerned and as they have been utter twats with this from day one and a long fight to get anything like the right value I dont blame him

As said i have seen that video many many times and other than the fall there is little if anything to criticise. No doubt over some sandwiches the collective will form an opinion.

Andy will no doubt give chapter and verse about the insurance fiasco at the appropriate time

Speaks volumes....

I'll describe it to you.
