Death of a GS

Too late pick up a Rallye Sport tomorrow.

And i can assure you I have never had a broom stuck up my Ass, or anything else fir that matter

Ha ha ...

See ... Good triumphs over everything in the end ! Crashed bike, bit of piss taking on the forum, bit of dented pride ... but .... a new Rally Sport as a prize at the end!

Good one .. :beerjug:

So to clarify as I have just proof read my post... I am that sack of potatoes, my backside does not shift from side to side on the seat and my torso above it will be in line with the Centreline of the bike irrespective of the angle of lean. If my arse isn't in contact with the seat I have pretty much disconnected from what my tyres are telling me. Look where you want to go and relax. If you have overcooked it a bit you will make a better job of getting round if you can react quickly and smoothly.

If you ride with your bum slightly out of the seat and all the weight on your toes/pegs you would be far more connected (not disconnected) from what the chassis and tyres are telling you? :nenau

Would it not also allow you to react far more quickly and shift you weight through the pegs if the are already weighted ?

Your legs would get knackered pretty quickly though :thumb :D

Watched it several times and although the back comes round the front seems to go a fraction of a second earlier than front.....

Forget weighting the pegs it's nonsense. Google seat of your pants flying, get past the common meaning for the phrase and see where it originated...

If you think about it, the phrase “flying by the seat of your pants" can conjure up some really funny images in your mind. Where did such a phrase ever come from?

Not surprisingly, the phrase is an old aviation saying. It appears to have originated in Great Britain as “flies by the seat of his trousers." It was Americanized to “flies by the seat of his pants" in the 1930s.

Since early aircraft did not have the many instruments modern planes have, pilots had to rely primarily on their own perceptions and judgment. Early pilots often flew without radios and other fancy gadgets.

Instead, they learned to react to the feel of the plane. Of course, the body part that usually had the most contact with the plane was the pilot's backside.

Early pilots developed an ability to estimate wind speed, external temperature and the overall condition of an airplane simply by paying attention to their senses — including the sense of feeling from their backsides!

Or another alternative TRUTH could be OIL on the road, in combination of low air pressure in rear tyre and severe lean angle just at the wrong moment.

The Perfect Storm scenario

What's this?

Check at the previous corner (at 12 seconds), looks like the bike grew an appendage from under the bike ?

He is in a hole

Or he will be when his `Mrs sees the bank statements

I subscribe to whatever the "something" was touching down at 12s and later through frame by frame sequence at 16-18s mark just to the immediate right of the rear tyre. Quite distinct on 18s. Suspect centre stand leg. I would check strength of the springs.

I like the new riding style to keep the weight lower down.

Any graunching heard pre tumble? Be interesting to know what that thing is but can't see any sparks and why wouldn't the centre stand just bounce back up? Does in my experience and you can feel it hit the deck never mind hear it !

Point noted

I like the new riding style to keep the weight lower down.

I'm always concise of what a short arse Redrick is when off the bike, I was just getting down to his level.

I was admiring me shiny new bike, what's up wi that,

Got to say how impressed i am with the Rallye

I think the colour scheme is great and some surprising extras fitted like a pretence at a mudsling, frame protectors, rad guards etc. Clocks are much improved and there seems to be a depth and lustre to the paint that has been missing in BMW for a while now

Sits a bit taller than the stock GS or looks like it but all in all looks very nice in the flesh
