Well I had to ride with 45 Harleys but hey its still riding… they just did not talk to me Lucky for me the ride captain was on a BMW-K1200. Is a different kind of riding with them and example is when we all met at 10am a few of them were standing around having a beer. Now I’m all for beer but hell just before a ride?

The ride split after 100 or so mile so people who were doing just one day could return to Vegas. The rest of us spend the night at the furnace creek resort which you can see is just fantastic. www.furnacecreekresort.com

350 miles the first day from Las Vegas Nevada to Death Valley California via about 6 stops as the hogs can only do about 120 miles from full to empty. We ended up at a place called Scotties castle that is a summer home build by a millionaire industrialist in the 1920’s We got there just at Dusk so only a few photos

Weather was low 60 to mid 70’s and elevations were from 280 feet below sea level to 6,000 above so only used the heated grips once. Its an easy ride on from Las Vegas and well worth the trip.

Enjoy.

Sounds like a great ride. Bit difficult for most of us this side of the pond to fully understand the type of ride you described. Wife and I did Route 66 last year on a pair of Harleys. The sense of isolation in the middle of the Mojave takes some beating, and I suspect it was a little like your ride. A fantastic experience. Enjoy and good luck.

Went past that too :D When we stayed at furnace creek, the roads got washed out so we had to head back North to get to Vegas, so went via Scottys castle.

Hi - enjoyed your pics. Been through DV three times now - twice on BMW1150GS's & once in a mate's borrowed car (out of San Fran). Loved it every time. Camped at Furnace Creek every time - it was bloody hot during the daytime! Wonderful landscape!

Enjoy the bike - looks great

Mike
