My steed has now been kept outside for the whole ten years of its life and the little symbols on the handlebar controls have now faded/been rubbed away.

Does anybody know if any one supplies these as decals? I know I can get a new combination switch, but apart from some fading of the kill switch everything works as it should and it seems a bit of a waste.

From memory, the symbols are so small it would be very difficult to paint them on.

Any help gratefully received

Decals

Surely after ten years you know what does what?

Hope that wasn't an offer to show me.....

Oh yeah I know what does what.......I'm just being a tart and wanted it to look good too.

Something to do with completeness I think:confused:

Try letraset, the a quick coat of clear laquer over the top.
You can even get the letraset in different colours now from most decent graphics shops or even a modeling shop

made me laff

Sorry to hijack this thread but Ive just done a search for how to replace a fork seal on my 1150 (seems easy) and came across loads of complaints and problems (many serious) with the 1200s.
Im replacing a fork seal on a 1150 with just over 100,000 on the clock and youre worried about decals on the switches.

Aint we both glad we bought 1150s

Not wrong there :thumb2 today i have been slightly concerned about soaking squashed bugs from my screen and formulating a plan for the shabby paintwork.

I think you have got confused, its not a 1200, so it is not, nor ever has been a tarts handbag :D. All I was after was the original little symbols for the light switch. It was never my intention to label every switch and control that would look just plain...........:ymca

Me confused? The original little symbols for the switches are not stickable onable ... they're embossed in to the plastic ;)

So the only conclusion to draw is that you were gonna label every switch :ymca

Nothing embossed on my bike or I would have just painted them back in :nenau Anyway I get the distinct impression that nothing is available and the general consensus is that I am being a big girls blouse so I will get back into my box and "worry" about bigger things in life...........I wonder if I could fit a fuel pump relay to my 850, just for the hell of it:augie

Hi I have just joined this forum . Dont know if anyone still needs any help on this topic but I have currently produced a stencil that could be applied then painted with decent paint to refurbish the faded lettering or symbols . If I can work it out I will put up a pic .

That is a fantastic first post… One that offers assistance rather than a cry for help. Welcome
