Decathlon mini wood burning stove.

It’s big enough, I just didn’t put a lot in. Apparently if you fill it to level with the holes it’ll burn for over 1hr but I wanted to see what would happen if I filled it to 1/3

I'm no expert but I reckon those £14 ones will easily boil a wee kettle of water in no time & you could cook up a fry on one too.
Hopefully find out soon!

Well I’m definitely impressed with the little burner! I used some chopped up kindling and some twigs I snapped of a bush. It boiled a Trangia kettle full of water in about 5 mins. It stayed hot for about half an hour and eventually burned down to a tiny pile of ashes. IMG_4036.jpeg

Nope! (Sorry Udders)
Can't see any evidence if gasification on any if the pics you posted.
Keep practicing.

That's a result!! 😁

The seller tells me that they are closing down, so you might have won yourself the last one.
That seemed likely from the cheap prices. It seems very good value, see how it goes, and whether I attain afterburn status or not.

Being of a rather impetuous nature I’ve ordered a very expensive wood burning camping stove. I might have to cut a piece of perforated plate to stop pellets dropping through and it might be an abject fail but we’ll see.

Now one thing I do know is that pellets burn from the top down but there must be a way I can top it up without snuffing it out if it starts to run low.

£14 :blast

You was like robbed, ripped-off ‘n stiffed and stuff, mate.

I was too lazy to shop around until I found the cheaper price.

Experiment #2 is due because I’ve got some pellets from a different supplier that I’d forgotten about so I’ll fill it with them and see how it goes. It might also be the case that it needs to pan support ring in place to push the gas in the right direction.

I can’t see me ever using it as a twig burner, I’m far more likely to use the smallest size Kelly kettle for that kind of game but if I can get good results using pellets or pine cones then it can stay.

Another cheap chinky knock off.

I can’t help thinking you’re gonna fail again regardless because I’m sure it’s not meant as a pellet burner. I used some chopped up kindling ( didn’t have access to twigs etc ) and it worked brilliantly. It may well work fine with different pellets and I hope it does because it’s a great, cheap cooker. :thumb2

The reason I’m hoping it’ll work with pellets is because once I’ve got it worked out it’s going to be easy to just put enough to boil a small kettle in a ziplock bag and drop it into the packed stove. I’m pretty much convinced I need to put a false base in to lift the fire closer to the pan support unless I’m going to fill it with fuel but only time will tell on that one.

Apart from that I need to get rid of the sciatica that’s been plaguing me for a fortnight then I can take the idiot dog to the woods and collect some pine cones and probably some prime sized kindling :D

Very popular on this forum, to put one up The Man and stiff the suits.
I need to read the instructions for mine, I didn't realise it could do that, I simplistically looked on it as a cheap stove. Seems it was even more of a bargain that I thought.

I already had a bag of kindling which I used with my Firebox so I used some of that. I’ve now chopped some more of the kindling up into cooker sized bits and put them into two zip topped bags ready for an adventure! :D All I need to do now is grab the cooker, a bag of ready made sticks and job done. :thumb2
Hope your back gets better. I hate back pain. Always catches you off guard!

Thanks but it’s not the back pain, the problem with sciatica is it spreads down the outside of your leg so it can be anywhere from top of your thigh to your ankle. It’s getting better now so at some point I might be able to get out of have a day in the hills with the dog.

Back to stoves; I’ve got a pair of Rolcut anvil secateurs that cut through 1/2” branches very easily without taking up much space. I bought them to cut the fingers off people I don’t like but they’re good for cutting kindling as well :D

Smash the system, bro!

Celebrate by burning twigs in your £14 bargain, placed on top of the £1000 Weber.

You lot need to get back to work ... you really do. :D
