Sorry Paul,only just seen your Post . As i said earlier,i've had no problems with the bike. I've used it to visit the Isle Of Man,been to the Ace Cafe,various Race Meetings and a bit of Local Hooning about. Because i don't commute on it,it gets used irregularly but for a decent mileage. I love it.
Fuel Economy never enters the equation.If it needs Petrol ,it gets some.I haven't made any mods as i bought a Van with my "Bling Budget".I think that i will do the 16t Sprocket,junk the Emissions Gubbins and fit Akra Cans. A full system would be nice but with the KTM and a HP2 MM and a ZRX1200 in the Toy Cupboard i have to be careful with the Plastic.
Hi, I've had a 950sm for nearly 2yrs and it still leaves a big grin on my face when i ride it. I've got akras,16t front sprocket and I've removed EPC etc all have helped but the only mod that makes a massive diffrence was the 16t sprocket.Fueling varies depending how you ride. round town or scratching not so good about 90-100 to reserve but touring in france excellent 135-145 to reserve. Scorpion syncs are the best all round tyres, tried others, currently on pilot powers but going back to syncs. I also have tried the 990sm and adventure but the FI is crap. The 950sm is without a shadow of a doubt the best of the bunch. Hope this helps
thanks lads,fitted full ako/system dyno/carbon/etc will fit a 16 sprocket next,just having the rear brake mod and starter motor spragy thing done this weekend under warratee,1500 miles 06.i am considering fitting a small screen? were do i get one?.
A quick note on fuel consumption.... On a late 2006 bike....
With std gearing around town reserve light comes on at 90-100, ridden like a loon on A and B roads with no regard for fuel consumption, reserve light comes on regularly at 120.
UPDATE Mileage 1880
After giving the Megamoto a run,earlier,i unchained the 950 SM and went out for a run. Stayed Local as it was starting to cool off as the sun dipped but put another 70 miles on. Bike running OK but REALLY needs a 16T Front Sprocket.It is WAAAAY overgeared. Having spent out with a Ti Akra for the MM,there ain't a lot left in the Kitty for the Katoom.Can't afford the Ti Akra so i reckon it will be getting a pair of Akra Cans,Emmissions Gubbins junked,Airbox Mod,K&N,Re-Jet and Dyno Set-Up,16T Sprocket. I've got a full set of R&G Bungs to fit and i may go for a set of Samco Hoses.
Well i didn't ! I picked up a Ti Evo Full System so had it fitted at PDQ (Emissions Gubbins and Baffles binned,jetted and Dyno'd)

Frame Protectors,Hand Guards and 16t Sprocket fitted.
