Round our way the roads / tracks seem to attract water. A friend totalled his diesel car in one of the deep sections!
I have a 2014 GS (non GSA), how deep can one ford in still water?
I realise if it is a flowing river this is different, did river crossings on a rented Enfield 500 in the Himalayas.

If it stops it’s too deep, and your feet get wet. :D

Top of the front wheel wasn’t a problem on mine. Air intake is at headlight level (bottom of..) . Not sure how long you could be stationary at that level before it seeped into the electrics but it didn’t miss a beat during or after a 100 yard stretch at that depth.

I had an RT with the cylinder heads covered as I rode down a flooded road in Slovenia. All Ok until it started mis firing. It’s the electrics that limit you, not the air intake.

Just below the air intakes. Gear indicator only thing that stopped working and that was ok when GS was left running in the dry. Just had to empty boots out after.

Beware of water ingress to the final drive if you go through deep water.

Hot final drive unit and cold water will often suck water in to the final drive unit and contaminate the oil.

Not a massive issue you just need to check and flush out accordingly.

Slightly off topic, a friend of mine wrote his brand new Range Rover off on Skegness beach many years ago after getting it stuck in the sand, the incoming tide did the rest. The silly bugger had only had it a week.

Just out of interest, was it covered by the insurance?
