Defense Centre

My computer seems to have had an infection of Defense Centre - which apparently disguises itself as anti-virus. I've run a spyware cleaner (updated it first) and Macafee (again updated) and C Cleaner. I've now lost my wireless connectivity icon from the toolbar and am having a Google problem.

If I type in a web address, the computer goes to it. For example I can type in www.google.co.uk and it goes to Google. If I search for UKGSER it comes up with the usual options. If I click on UKGSER on the list that Google brings up, I get redirected to a shop or site selling an anti-virus programme.

Any ideas out there?

+1 My daughter had this problem on her laptop. - Probably took me best part of half a day to remove it, update antivirus and do full system scan..

Bloody arseholes who create this stuff!

Thanks for that. If I can suss out what's wrong with me printer, I'll print off the instructions and get on with it.
